Amitabha Buddha  is the Buddha of Infinite Light and Infinite Life.  He is venerated by all Mahayana schools, and particularly, Pure Land.  Amitabha Buddha  presides over the Western Pure Land (Land of Ultimate Bliss), where anyone can be reborn through utterly sincere recitation of His Name, particularly at the time of one's final moment.  Amitabha Buddha at the highest level represents the Pure Mind, the Ture Nature, without ego, attachment, or illusions.  (6/3/2010)
