The worship of Amitabha Buddha  originated in India, but took firm roots in China.  The Pure Land Buddhism of Amitabha soon spread from China to its neighboring countries.  The Pure Land Buddhism  has various meditational practices for those who are well on the path.  Meditation is an excellent practice of purification of the Mind.  Meditation helps us maintain a peaceful and clear mind state.  (6/4/2010)
